"It's a long story," Ash laughed. "I found a Charmander sitting alone on a rock, and it turned out some guy abandoned it." He went into the story of rescuing Charmander from the rain, dealing with Damien, the battles Charmander had fought with him, his evolutions and how things went sour for a while...and of course, how he'd won Charizard's respect and love by saving his life again.
