EliwoodGabriel (10:02:15 PM): Yeah, he's kinda affected by the heat since he's, you know, still a newborn Observer.

EliwoodGabriel (10:04:29 PM): And because his clothing behaves like a second/skin exoskeleton, that got affected, too, and it made his scars itch.

EliwoodGabriel (5:22:46 PM): So yeah. Naga's power itself can't destroy Grima, but if you add the power of an Observer to the Exalted Falchion...
Elentir3 (5:23:22 PM): Yikes.
EliwoodGabriel (5:24:01 PM): You're presented to the third solution- have Bram do what he desires, to slay Grima for once and for all.
Elentir3 (5:24:22 PM): Ahhh. Does that have consquences?
EliwoodGabriel (5:27:36 PM): No, that's the whole deal about this scenario- Bram, upon hearing that either Chrom puts Grima to sleep or Robin kills both Grima and herself... not wanting Chrom to suffer the loss of his wife like he did, asks if, as the only Observer capable of swinging the Falchion, if he could be granted his wish to end this all... since it was 'his' fault Grima attacked their world. In short, Bram is asking this rare chance because of his guilt.

EliwoodGabriel (5:29:30 PM): So, yes. Bram suggests a consequence-less solution in dealing with Grima, but says he'll need a granted permission for it.
The one who grants it? Alvis.
Elentir3 (5:30:04 PM): Of course. He'd understand better than anybody.
EliwoodGabriel (5:30:10 PM): Mmmm.
EliwoodGabriel (5:34:09 PM): It might seem like an ass-pull, but... I dunno. For Bram, it goes full circle- from being the Chrom that died in Lucina's timeline to being the Chrom that annihilates Grima.
Elentir3 (5:35:24 PM): Hm...I think it'd be more problematic if Robin didn't come back after his/her sacrifice anyway. Negating that AND the fact that Grima would come back if Chrom does the deed would be cheap, but since the sacrifice is temporary...
EliwoodGabriel (5:37:51 PM): Well, and there's the fact Bram himself was uncertain if Robin's sacrifice would be forever or temporary himself.
Elentir3 (5:39:06 PM): Ahh. Also, it would technically entail killing what remains of the Robin from Bram's timeline, which...has to hurt.
EliwoodGabriel (5:43:06 PM): He wanted to end her suffering under Grima's control... and he also knew there was a chance she would end up as an Observer, too, since she fitted all the requirements.
Elentir3 (5:43:36 PM): Oh, yeah.
EliwoodGabriel (5:47:41 PM): Yeah, so, that's in Destati. In Réveille, Robin learns that the power of Words that the God-Witch has, while it cannot make or unmake people, can make and unmake connections. Cue Robin using that granted power to slay Grima, saying that Grima's last breath will severe their connection, thus saving her from being erased. Among other Words.

EliwoodGabriel (5:48:45 PM): The whole idea in the variations is that as long as someone as strong as Naga holds the power to manipulate fate, the path to stop Grima can change.

EliwoodGabriel (6:05:23 PM): I checked the video for Foreseer and the swords used to wound Bram when his Emmeryn died were Steel Swords.

Elentir3 (6:06:40 PM): That can be a useful tendency. Though I gotta say, for a mission like that Validar coulda...y'know, outfitted the assassin a bit better.
Elentir3 (6:07:29 PM): I mean, Killing Edges and Silver Swords aren't that expensive, and it might've succeeded in killing Chrom in the original timeline. The lesson here is that being cheap doesn't always pay.

EliwoodGabriel (6:13:09 PM): I'm thinking of having Bram had flashbacks via dreams, so one of the things he'll remember is how he lost his world's Emmeryn.
EliwoodGabriel (6:32:35 PM): So fighting Brom would be like Chrom facing the worst side of himself, the part he covers up and all.

EliwoodGabriel (6:36:37 PM): Yeah, that's pretty much the story. When Bram, back when he was still Chrom, woke up from his wounds to learn that Emmeryn was murdered, he didn't took it as well as one hoped.
Elentir3 (6:37:31 PM): I'm sure. I mean, I know how he took Emmeryn's death in the altered timeline, but in this case he'd also be injured and unable to take any sort of immediate action.
EliwoodGabriel (6:39:09 PM): Mmm. When he learned about it, he sat up so quick he almost fainted again because of the pain, and he was stuck in bed for quite a while, so he was really, REALLY suffering. The reason why Bram fell in love with his Robin was because she was ALWAYS by his side.

EliwoodGabriel (6:41:18 PM): So, yeah. Seeing Emmeryn again after the failed attempt thanks to Lucina's efforts... Bram was torned up with all of his emotions he wasn't sure HOW to react to everything.

EliwoodGabriel (6:43:21 PM): He just... stood there numbly, trying to say something but nothing came out of his mouth. When he finally does, he just... speaks so gently and carefully you KNOW he's trying not to burst out crying.

EliwoodGabriel (6:45:05 PM): Yeah. He's much more sensitive than Chrom is.
Elentir3 (6:45:45 PM): Fair enough, he's been through a lot more.
EliwoodGabriel (6:46:51 PM): Though don't tell it in front of his face, else he'll slap you with a tome.

EliwoodGabriel (8:58:25 PM): Yeah, I'd imagine the first few weeks for Bram when his Emmeryn died must've been brutal for him. I wouldn't be surprised if he was depressed a whole lot for a while.

EliwoodGabriel (9:00:18 PM): The poor guy probably tried to stop most of that angst from happening to Chrom. ...He sorta succeeded because he sensed "Marth"'s presence (but couldn't tell it was Lucina)

EliwoodGabriel (9:01:58 PM): Well, he kinda figured it out once Chrom mentioned it was "Marth", and when he said it was a woman, Bram put two and two together then.

EliwoodGabriel (9:04:04 PM): Yeah. Bram hesistates to tell it's his daughter because of his Observer code and because Chrom's Lucina isn't born yet.
Elentir3 (9:04:24 PM): Oh, yeah, that'd really be a mindscrew for Chrom at that point.
EliwoodGabriel (9:05:33 PM): But Chrom kinda figures it's someone important to Bram because of his reaction.
EliwoodGabriel (9:07:10 PM): And Bram has a bad habit of touching his scars, whenever they ache or not.

EliwoodGabriel (8:39:20 PM): My other headcanon is that Bram and Chrom's... lightening scars are very different because of the strength of the magic.
Elentir3 (8:42:20 PM): Oh, yeah.
EliwoodGabriel (8:42:50 PM): Chrom's didn't exactly pierced (It did hurted like hell), so it was more of a bruise.
Elentir3 (8:43:30 PM): Yeah. He's on top form after the first fight with Validar, so I'd guess it'd mostly vanish after somebody uses a Heal staff.
EliwoodGabriel (8:44:26 PM): Mostly, but there's still a scar. And after that FMV in which he runs away from the place with Lucina, he feels PRETTY damned lightheaded.
Elentir3 (8:44:47 PM): Makes sense.
EliwoodGabriel (8:46:00 PM): And maybe a little nauseous because that was his stomach, right?
Elentir3 (8:46:12 PM): Oh, absolutely.

Lucina: Father, what's wrong?
Chrom: ...I need to lie down.
Elentir3 (8:49:13 PM): Yeah. The stress of the situation wouldn't help matters.

Elentir3 (8:51:39 PM): And Henry would be disappointed Chrom's scar wasn't as major.

EliwoodGabriel (8:35:43 PM): Also I don't know exactly where all his scars from the assassins are. I know there's one at the stomach where he was also hit by Thoron, one going over his chest, but I dunno if I should add a third one and maybe have some at his back...

EliwoodGabriel (8:37:06 PM): ...YES. He probably bled a whole lot during the attack, poor guy.
Elentir3 (8:38:28 PM): I imagine it was only through Lissa's healing and thorough use of Elixirs by Robin that he survived.

Elentir3 (8:39:12 PM): Yes. But perhaps that distraction was what allowed Emm to be killed so quickly? Everybody's eyes were on Chrom.
EliwoodGabriel (8:39:46 PM): That was probably it. Chrom's near-assassination was actually a distraction to get to Emmeryn. Because Lucina intervened in her world...

EliwoodGabriel (8:45:14 PM): So anyway! In the Prime World, Chrom aka Bram almost died the same night as Emmeryn. However, knowing what had happened, Lucina slowed down Emmeryn's 'death' by "ambushing" the assassins meant to wound Chrom. Because of that, when Emmeryn does dies, the altered world's Plegian army loses morale, making the war against Gangrel speed up from a couple of years to a couple of weeks.

EliwoodGabriel (8:47:32 PM): When Bram arrives to Ylisse Castle after Lucina left, he does ask a few questions to the crew- his first asking who in the hell saved Chrom. When Chrom replied "A woman going by the name Marth", that's when Bram knew that his plot to bring his children to the altered world worked.

Elentir3 (8:55:45 PM): Hmm...she'd probably be trying hard as hell to keep her composure, but Bram would realize by her facial expressions that she's deeply concerned. He'd probably leave for this reason, after which I imagine she'd burst out crying alone.
Elentir3 (8:56:27 PM): I can't imagine Emmeryn crying in front of him, because even though he's Bram, she's his older sister and she has to put on a brave face.
EliwoodGabriel (8:57:30 PM): Eh, or Bram hugs her and tells her it's okay to get upset, because he's happy to see her alive and well in his world, and that's all that matters to him.

EliwoodGabriel (8:59:52 PM): It's Bram. He's more sensitive than Chrom.
Elentir3 (9:00:34 PM): Hm...do you attribute that to the time spent in the Plegian war, the way he died, or just being an Observer?

In short, Bram is asking this rare chance because of his guilt.

Because of that, when Emmeryn does dies, the altered world's Plegian army loses morale, making the war against Gangrel speed up from a couple of years to a couple of weeks.
