If Mythverse was written in French...
May. 3rd, 2017 03:58 pm...Mieke's dialect would totally be Acadian French. *Mine is a blend of Acadian and Québec, so she'd sound more like my relatives in Dieppe.*
Since I posted so many stuff about Mieke, it's time we revise her for the new Mythverse, shall we?
Mieke Dayen is still the daughter, and possible heir, of a noble corsair as a member of House Dayen. Although she was raised among sailors and boats, her true talents lied in warfare strategy and tactics, and was supported by her parents to use them. She descends from Durban and his tactician via an ancestor moving to a budding Badon. She's a blunt yet kindhearted girl, caring very much for her soldiers and friends.
...In fact, she cares so much, that one of the changes is that she pulls off a Robin and joins the group as a fighter- once her father gives her back her beloved katars, Dioscuri and Gemini. And once she fights alongside her companions, you better pray that she doesn't target you- she gives Jaffar competition on the name "Angel of Death". As it turns out, a good portion of her time in Badon, she would 'arena crawl' (seeing there's two) as a competitor once she was old enough (much to the surprise of, well, most people, and to the amusement of Hector.) She's also known for joining bar fights in Badon, and has been reprimanded by her dad about it many times. She's pretty handy with a bar stool, even. (I can't help it. LoA's rendition of Mieke will always be near and dear to my heart, and the RP sample just as much.)
Look-wise, I've been planning to update her, but I'm gonna post that once I have a good grip on that. I'll probably use dollmakers for that, of course... but one thing is certain, she's got her cape, and she tends to remove it when going into battle. Because her fighting style does NOT work with capes, since she developed them before she had one. "I only have a cape because it's a portable blanket." I remember Ike saying he use his like one in FE9, so Mieke, being Mieke, would probably think the same.
...She also gains a quirk of using nautical terms when other means could work. And, because she literally was the captain's daughter, her father's crewmen called her Cat o' Nine Tails, to which her nickname in Badon is, well, Cat.

So, something that Sara probably remembers is my silly AU for FE7 involving myths and stuff, and after more than a decade, I kinda wanna look back and revise that stuff. Mostly because I can.
First thing first- Eriwod, the albino magic using ancestor of Eliwood's who looks identical to him. While his background is mostly unchanged- his parents died as a kid, and he ended up falling into the shadows until Durban's intervention, then he began as a mage and ended up part of Roland's army as his Disciple. Once the Scouring was over, he became Pherae's first Marquess.
The changes are the following- he is the first of the line named Eliwood (our Eliwood is the third), and is officially known in Pherae as the "First of The Name", while the rest of the world knows him as the "First of Pherae's Name". (Due to this, Eliwood is often said to be the "Third of The Name/Pherae's Name".) Originally, he died from being poisoned when his son was 13 and he was 45, however since I've created the Observers, he just... pulled an Elimine and became an Observer by the name of Harper. (Oddly enough, in a non-Mythverse version of Elibe, that's exactly what happened to Mieke the tactician, as she becomes the Observer Overseer of the Outrealms, Ada.)
That means he gets a nice blue outfit (since the Observers are based on the Velvet Attendants in the Persona Series), thought not navy blue- this blue works. Also he gets a spiffy hat, because it's part of the uniform. He watches over Elibe to make sure the descendants of the Scouring's heroes doesn't mess up anything... but it's Elibe. Of course there will be messes. Because of the nature of Observers, his weapon is jokingly known as the Ubertome- basically, all magic tomes that exists, that once exist and that shall exist can be found in it. Seeing that, in Mythverse, there was something known as "The Magic of Kings", I'd like to recreate it as the source of all magic, and the Observers are masters of the craft.
Only- the First of The Name was capable of using it even before becoming an Observer, and Pherae was build by practitioners of the Magic of Kings, known as Thaumaturgy. So in Mythverse, Pherae is known for their crazy-ass magic-users who does crazy feats you can't do in ANY Fire Emblem game. Which means that yes, as the Third of The Name, Eliwood CAN use magic, he just doesn't practice it very much. (Mythverse pretty much gives the middle finger to game mechanics.)
