When the doors to the lobby opened once again, Phoenix looked over to see Red Ketchum entering the room; what seems to be his Charizard Ignatius carrying his backpack in his arms, while Taranis the Pikachu, wearing his trainer's cap, sat comfortably on the other Pokémon's shoulder.
Phoenix wasn't the only one who noticed him. When Delia saw who it was that arrived, she got up from her seat. "Red!?" She couldn't help but stare. "Red, is that you, sweetie?"
"Hi, Aunt Delia," he greeted as he approached the seating area, Pokémon in tow. "It's been a while, hasn't it?"
"You rascal..." Delia walked over to him and embraced him tightly. "I'm so glad I don't have to worry about you anymore! You've made everyone worried about you back home!"
He returned the hug. "I know, I know. Mom must've forgot to tell everyone I was leaving Mount Silver for good last week."
She let go of her nephew. "You certainly look in good health, Red," she noted, then beamed at him. "And your interview! I read it on the way here- it was wonderful, Red."
"Thanks," he told her as his cheeks went pinker. He then realized who else was sitting in the lobby as well. "Oh, Mr. Wright!" He rubbed his neck. "Were you in the middle of talking with my aunt?"
"No, we just finished our conversation," Phoenix pointed out. "You seem in higher spirits."
"Well, yeah. Knowing Ash is in recovery now is a bit of a mood booster." Red looked over to the Charizard following him. "That, and Ignatius is all rest up from flying. I hate pushing him so hard, but I did wanted to reach Olivine in time." Ignatius softly growled as he patted the backpack. Red nodded. "Oh, right, and I was able to contact Leaf in Sinnoh earlier this morning."
Oh right, Red's twin sister, Phoenix recalled. "She's not able to come here, would she?"
"Not right now- I think she's got her hands tied like Dad and Uncle Mark. Besides, I'm not sure I'd want her support right now."
"Why's that?"
Red grimaced. "She'd suplex me out of anger," he offered. To that, Delia cocked an eyebrow while both Pokémon just stared. "Well, okay, I'm probably exaggerating, but Leaf can be pretty intense when she's mad." Ignatius merely snorted in response, rolling his eyes.
