Some Hourglass SOULS drabbling...
Nov. 12th, 2025 06:26 pmHe remembered the first time he met them. Mr. Boom had suggested that he could try and replace their retiring organist for mass at the Heraldic Church. 'It'd be kind of ya if ya helped out- our only organist left's finishing junior high, and I don't want mass to be a stressful thing for them,' Mr. Boom had told him. Surprised at the offer, he decided to see mass himself to gauge if he could be a good fit.
The Mass Hall was a bright place, with sky blue plaster, light natural wood and elegant light fixtures; its many windows letting their mosaics color the rooms in reflective hues. The altar, a thick wooden slab held by carved statues of the Heralds, had the traditional mass implements lay out upon it. Behind the altar was the reason he was at mass- the stunning organ made for the building. Carved and hammered with elegance, placed with precision, it was like the organ was an extension of the altar. Imitating the organ were the pews, sharing the same wood type and ornamented with the same metal.
People chattered to each other as they entered the Hall, with various forms of laughter sprouting from time to time. The pews began to be filled up, a mix of human and monsters sharing them, waiting for mass to begin. He took his place at the pew with the best view of the organ. And that's when he saw this dainty human- clearly a Blank- walk towards the instrument, exuding an air of someone who has played this frequently since they could. They were dressed in jewel-toned clothes and accessories decorated with lace, ribbons and thin chains.
Mr., Mrs. and Mx. Boom sat down next to him.
"There's our organist," Mr. Boom announced as they sat down on the organ bench, flourishing their overskirt behind them like tails of a formal tuxedo. "This is Kris Dreemurr."
(Thought I would add more but I'll just put it as done here.)
