Epilogue Title uses from "At The Beginning" from the Anastasia OST
Of course best movie is gonna pop up again to tie in with this story!
And we're getting Est and Abel together! And poor Palla doesn't. Don't worry Palla, we're gonna find you someone else to ship you with... Perhaps your liege Princess from the way you're thinking about Minerva? :3
And the Khadein group! Who teases the fuck outta Merric's crush on Elice! Honestly writing them as a group was actually fun in the story, so I loved writing this scene.
JAGEN AND LORENZ BEING THE GRAMPA RETAINERS TALKING ABOUT THEIR LIEGES. I'm glad we get to mention Jubelo and Yuliya in the epilogue, so we get sprinkles of New Mystery to anticipate the readers!
Again, Dragon dialogue! Yes, Maia and Ange are gonna stay in Altea! Also that "I don't want Xane as a step-dad" was just... perfect. Perfectly Ange.
THE TALK WITH HARDIN AND NYNA. It's gonna cause the New Mystery plot, but differently... and I love having Marth offer words of encouragement! And telling him the title of his story! (Yeah, "Elemental Lords" is what Masou Kishin is translated to! Because of the Four Elements use in the gameplay! Listen I can talk about the esoteric origins of La Gias but this is Fire Emblem.) AND MARTH IS NOT REMINDED OF CORNELIUS ANYMORE WHEN HE LOOKS AT HARDIN! Boy, that sure won't be used against him in the sequel- oh wait, we know the sequel, IT WILL.
And I love how I go back to how the story started in the prologue- in the gardens of Talys Castle. I thought it would make for an awesome circle to end the story on. I gave some more Altea lore, and proceed to borrow something from Masou Kishin again- that they propose with a pendant, and the aquamarine stone is a nod to the piece of orichalconium used for those pendants. And I like the use of "formalize our vows", because it's clearcut that Marth intended to marry Caeda no matter what, and it's just... it's more appealing than "will you marry me?"
And so, curtains are closing on Act 1 of Marth's life. Join us again for Act 2...
