When Gary stood up, the guests quickly went quiet- at the same time, Ash took a deep breath, taking a few tissues from his pocket, then passing two to his new wife.

"Well, before we do a toast, I'd... ah..." Gary passed a hand through his hair. "Sorry, I'm a little tongue-tied right now, should've written a speech down..." He shook his head. "I'm gonna try to keep this short. I've, uh, I've known Ash for... well, since we were babies, and-"

"Divine Arceus, Gary, this is my wedding, stop being nervous!"

"Of course I'd be nervous at your wedding, you're practically my brother!" And tears began to well up in his eyes. "Even though we had that rivalry phase, I've always considered you my best friend, and..."

Misty covered her face, trying her best not to laugh. 'To think that this is the same Gary Oak I've met when Ash and I were ten...' she thought.
